FREEDOM FOR THE LATTER-DAY SAINT SOUL
From Our Warehouse of Literature A Fourth Book for Understanding Mormonism

The author, Judy Robertson, writes from her vast knowledge as a former Mormon. She utilizes her 37 years counseling and helping ‘questioning-Mormons’. Judy kept records of personal interviews held with various seekers. These records have been integrated along with an accurate description of Mormon life and beliefs.
This book is succinct and thorough, providing the reader with an understanding of Mormonism and its salvation process. Judy’s book is one of Concerned Christians fundamental teaching volumes, sharing the facts of Mormon structure.

Russell M. Nelson became President/Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in January 14, 2018. This new leader has made it a personal mission to redirect the public appearance of the Church. This organization is now attempting to distance itself from its historically sordid past.On page 6 of FREEDOM FOR THE LATTER-DAY SAINT SOUL Judy quotes the New York Times article by Julia Jacobs stating, “Russell M. Nelson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, asked people to refrain from using ‘Mormon’ or ‘LDS’ as a substitute for the full name of their church.” Mr. Nelson said that the policy change came to him in a revelation from God and that “members of the church must work to adjust their vernacular.”This is obviously an attempt to clean up some of the uncomfortable past that was attached to the use of such terms.Get your copy now by contacting Gary Keating at 480-209-8279 or emailing [email protected].

Current News from Utah

Salt Lake City Tribune                          February 20, 2024

The Tribune writer, Gordon Monson, wrote an interesting article titled:

WHAT SHOULD THE LDS CURCH DO WITH ITS BILLIONS? Turn it into trillions? What would Jesus do?

Monson states, “More can be better —-if we’re talking about more going to the poor, the sick, the hungry, the cold, the forgotten.” Monson then asks, “What is money for?”

This question is being asked by LDS followers and people outside of the LDS Corporation. This Corporation is now worth $300 billion and growing. The writer suggests that the leaders seem to be monetarily motivated to escalate their worth into the trillions. He asks the question, “Is the organization to be run not like the Lord’s church, but rather like the Lord’s corporation? How does the (LDS) song go, ‘We thank thee, O God, for a …profit”? (a pun for prophet).

According to Monson the LDS Corporation has large stock holdings in Microsoft, Apple, Mastercard, JP Morgan, Chase, Tesla, Amazon, Home Depot, and Walmart, among many others.

Then Gordon makes the following statement. “And I and more than a few other followers of the faith are trying to figure out how we feel about a supposedly divine outfit being so wrapped up in worldly affairs, in being in the world and of the world. Especially since faithful followers, whether poor or wealthy or somewhere in between, fork over 10% if their hard-earned annual income either to honor the Almighty or to further boost the church’s investment opportunities.”

He also stated, “there is something remarkably convenient in the DUALITY of the church calling for and sanctioning the collection of tithes from its members, regardless of their personal financial situations, for God’s glory, but also bolstering its own billion-dollar bank accounts en route.”

Finally, Monson asks a very succinct question. “How would Jesus handle such matters?”

Do you know there are Christians who never open their Bible except during worship service? There are Christians who never open their Bible at all. Does this make you a bit sad or are you maybe one yourself?

It is never too late to start reading God’s Word. Resurrection Sunday is nearly here. A glorious day to set aside even a few minutes for some quiet time. Thirty-one Proverbs. One a day. You will always know where to start your day.
