PILLARS BUILT ON SAND

THE STUCTURE OF THE LDS CORPORATION

What I am about to share with you in this article is the first of Four Pillars of the LDS Corporation. You will not find these described this way in Latter-day-Saints materials. But they are the four essentials which provide their leaders with theological control over their followers with administrative control also included. All four will be described, one per month, from September through December.

But before I approach the September subject, I want to talk about why Joseph Smith, Jr. thought it was necessary to reinvent God’s Word. Didn’t he believe it? Did he wish to change it in various parts? Did he believe he could instruct God on how it should be? Or did he have other clandestine designs?

Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-27; “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord’, and do not do what I say? Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

This provides us with our title PILLARS BUILT ON SAND!

Joseph could not present his literary invention until he nullified God’s Holy Word. He did this by questioning the translation process of the Bible. This was a bold egotistic move in as much as Joseph had NO translational skills. His definition of translation was looking at ‘peep stones’ in a ‘peep hat’. This is not translation. It is divination, magic, or spiritualism (or spiritism).

One former Mormon, Shawn McCraney, said about Joseph, “. . . his most damaging act was his SUBTLE ATTACK ON THE AUTHORITY AND AUTHENTICITY OF THE BIBLE. Without this attack, his literary invention had no authority”. He convinced followers his invention was better than God’s Word. It sounded like God’s Word, but it was not the same. The Book of Mormon subtly changed God’s Word. Then through Joseph’s visions he added more through the PEARL OF GREAT PRICE and DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS.

Control over the members was gained by:

Redefining who God is and his relation to his son, Jesus.

Inventing Continuing Prophecy for providing instant operation control.

Resurrecting the Old Testament style of Priesthood authority.

Establishing three non-Biblical states of heaven, which provides the priesthood with accountability tools creating motivational control.

THE NATURE OF GOD AND HIS SON

After Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected to new life demonstrating His power over death, He set His church in motion by sending out his Apostles and disciples with power saying,

(Matthew 26:19-20), “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

This instruction to His followers is extremely authoritative and includes ALL remaining earthly time. It carries with it the dimension of finality. There will be no necessity of further revelation. IT HAS BEEN DONE, ONCE FOR ALL TIME.

Regardless of this fact, it is time to examine the differences between the Biblical Jehovah/Jesus and the Mormon Jehovah/Jesus (Heavenly Father).

1. Bible = Jehovah/Jesus is the only God. (John 1:1-14, Colossians 1:15-20,

Hebrews 1:1-3)

Mormon = Heavenly Father is one god among many gods (Jesus is lesser a

God, Heavenly Father is god of this planet, there are many gods and planets)

2. Bible = Jehovah/Jesus is the Most High, The Almighty God. (Revelation 1:7-8)

Mormon = Heavenly Father is not the Most High or the Almighty. (And Jesus

is not as powerful as gods above him)

3. Bible = Jehovah/Jesus is eternal. They have no beginning or end. (John 1:1,

Colossians 1:15-16, Hebrews 1:1-3, Genesis 1:1)

Mormon = Heavenly Father is not eternal. He is one of many gods. Mormon

Jesus had to earn godhood by keeping the LDS Gospel.

4. Bible = Jehovah/Jesus is our Creator and our God. (John 1:3, Colossians 1:15,

Revelation 4:8-11)

Mormon = Jesus is our older brother. He is the first born of Heavenly Father

and Mother in the pre-mortal existence.

5. Bible = Jehovah/Jesus is the Creator of Lucifer. (John 1:3, Colossians 1:16-17)

Mormon = Jesus is the spirit brother of Lucifer. (They were brothers in the

pre-mortal existence)

6. Bible = Jehovah/Jesus created everything that exists, even all chemical

Elements we call matter. (John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:15-17)

Mormon = Heavenly Father created only the earth with the help of others.

He did not create matter. It already existed.

7. Bible = Jehovah/Jesus spoke all of creation into existence, including the

creation of matter. (ex-nihilo, out of nothing. Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 1:3)

Mormon = He did not create anything. He organized existing matter.

8. Bible = Jehovah/Jesus is Spirit. (Matthew 18:20, 28:18-20, John 14:6-21)

Mormon = Heavenly Father is a man of flesh and bones, that is, human

not Spirit. Therefore, he cannot be everywhere.

9. Bible = Jesus was born of a virgin miraculously. (Isaiah 7:14, Mt. 1:18-23)

Mormon = Jesus was not born of a virgin, but by normal human relations.

These nine comparisons show the drastic difference between the limited god of Mormonism – Heavenly Father, and the real unlimited God of all creation, Jehovah/Jesus.

The Mormon non-Biblical view of pre-existence allowed Joseph Smith to introduce the old first century heresy of Gnosticism. This leads to the concept of many gods, and everyone may become a god.

Mormonism is an amalgamation of various man-made religious ideas. This is called Syncretism, the adopting of different thoughts for the purpose of developing a new belief system.

For Joseph Smith this process was necessary to establish him as Prophet.

Prophecy and ‘The Prophet’ will be Pillar number 2, the topic for October. Print this out and use it when the ‘Elders’ come to visit you. This is not for debating. It is for your knowledge.

“The one who has shared my food, has turned against me” (Ps 41:9 NLT) A band of weak people had banded together and turned against David.

For some it is easy to be persuaded to follow the crowd. I mean who wants to be left out !? We must be careful of the company we keep. Be mindful of what you hear and who you hear it from. In reference to reading, my mentor always told me ‘know your author’.

If you are sitting under a preacher or teacher who does not suggest or even encourage you to corroborate something you hold in question, I suggest it is time for at minimum a serious conversation. It is your responsibility to refute those who contradict God’s word. ( Titus 1:9) You won’t hear the difference if you haven’t studied. 2Timothy 2:15 tells us to know how to handle the word accurately. I hope each day you set aside time to read about God’s plan for your life.

“Excellent job in your Cross Newsletter of August 2022.”My son was raised in a Christian home but when he joined the service he wrote home to tell us of three young men who were very different than the others. He said they were Mormons. The seeds were planted. (editors note) Later when he was deployed he was befriended by an LDS comrade. He was baptized into their faith. He later married an LDS girl. We were not allowed to see our son married. We have grandchildren we seldom see. I am now a widower. I have tried to witness but it is difficult. (with family especially. editors note) Please keep up the good work. MN
